Guarantees, maintenance and servicing on the Humphrey ADE-circle anaesthetic breathing system, and the “Free-Ox”.

The equipment supplied by Anaequip is made up of components from various manufacturers who offer specialized service if their component requires attention. Defective equipment as a result of a manufacturing fault is covered, but not wear-and-tear nor damage by misuse or failure to service the equipment as per instructions. Disposable products such as tubing, reservoir bags and filters are not covered by these guarantees.

The Humphrey ADE system:

Guarantee: This is made by Anaequip and has a one year guarantee on parts should they become faulty through defective manufacture. Should any fault be observed, the matter must be reported back to Anaequip together with information on the serial number and date of purchase.
Maintenance: Soda lime dust can accumulate throughout the equipment. When changing the soda lime this should be washed out of the canister and main ADE body with water. Any soda lime granules that accidentally fall into the screw holes of the canister must be cleaned out.
Servicing: The canister seals and one-way valves requires changing annually – this is done in-house by the vet. Both the exhaust and pressure-limiting valves on the ADE main metal body require servicing annually – this is arranged with Anaequip by returning the two valves by post with replacements being sent from a pool. An ADE spanner set is required. Spare parts and disposable components and the spanner set can be purchased on the website shop.

Main Frames:

This is made by Anaequip. There are no moving parts and no routine maintenance is required. Damage must be reported immediately on delivery, otherwise it will be confirmed as received in good condition. After delivery responsibility for any damage however caused is hereafter excluded. Routine cleaning is all that is required.
Maintenance: The frame requires little servicing but general checks that no bolt or wheel have become loose should carried out every six months. Tighten these as required.

Oxygen Flowmeter:

This in manufactured in Kent, England. They offer a one year guarantee.
Maintenance: During this period the flowmeter does not require servicing. Should any fault be observed, the matter must be reported back to Anaequip together with information on the serial number and date of purchase.

Vaporizer:

This is manufactured for Anaequip in England. The manufacturers offer a one year guarantee. During this period they do not require servicing. Should any fault be observed, the matter must be reported back to Anaequip together with information on the serial number and date of purchase. All vaporizers supplied by Anaequip are of the selectatec type and are easily removed should isoflurane or sevoflurane be selected. It assists in servicing and can be sent by courier in appropriate packaging.
Maintenance: It is recommended that the vaporizer output be checked on an annual basis or if any error is suspected. Note this service is not offered by Anaequip.

Oxygen concentrator:

The oxygen concentrator has a 1 year guarantee from the date of purchase from Anaequip. However, the external and internal filters must be changed as per the manual for the guarantee to be valid.
Maintenance: The external foam filter should be washed each week or more often if heavily contaminated by dust. The internal filter must be replaced annually and can be purchased on the website shop (easily down in-house by vet staff). For items that require changing please refer to the manual supplied with the concentrator.
